Sharad Navratri Parana
Performed on the 10th day of the Sharad Navratri, the Dashmi tithi is commemorated as the day when the cluster of Shardiya Navratri comes to an end. Its always been a mystery as to when the Parana must be observed, i.e. either on the Navami or on the Dashami. As per the Mimansas, the Navaratri Parana must be performed on the Dashami. According to them, there are plenty of texts suggesting that the Dashami tithi is perfect for Parana as the fast is observed on the Navami tithi. If the Navami tithi is occurring on 2 days, the first day would be the one for the fast, and the next day is to be kept for the Navaratri Parana. Being the last day for Sharad Navratri Pujan, the Bhagwati Durga Visarjan must be done on this day after the Shodashopchar Pujan.
The rituals after the Pujan include offering food and gifts to the Brahmins and 9 little girls. This is also known by the name of Kanya Pujan.
